So I'm prolly gonna catch heat for this but whatever. I just don't get why chicago seems to have forgotten about style. Writers here constanly complain about how were the forgotten city and constantly overlooked but seriously, look at our graff scene. In chicago you're big sh*t when you have throwies and tags all over the city. You don't even have to have can control. You can count on one hand the number of writers that still do full color burners and pieces illegally. And then I hear "the buffs winning" or " I can't afford the paint". What the f**k, rack the paint, buy the paint, do what you gotta do. I've heard so many times "know your history". I think that's the best advice any writer can be given. Chicago was once right up there with all the beast cities. Rocked transit, rocked rooftops, and rocked permissions all from the same writers. We can't let Daley and the pigs change that. In graffiti Style will always be king. Once we realize that we can start reclaiming our place at the top.

We have to go back to thinking like CAP did in styles wars. "its not about putting one nice peice on one train its about putting my name up on each train"

double hockey stick ya, and people focus on themselves and their own peices too much.
As a group in whole, they cant buff every peice everyone went out to do.
And its only a matter of time before KING CAPONE KING CAPONE DALEY stimulates up to.
Then hopefully the next guy wont close 6 public schools and continously dump $4.5 milli into destroying creativity.
Maybe its finally time to go stimulatein insane this summer.

there is no problem with chicago graffiti and im going to have to agree with flash and say your not lookin hard enough. Style is everywhere from the hand styles that guys like ark and temper have to the one line throw ups that goma does to the full blown burners and productions you find on the southside this city is full of graffiti from north to south and west to west from guys that are still learning to the guys that have been rockin it since since the beginning.

having documented chicago graffiti for the last 2 years i learned how to spot the brown stuff everywhere even where you would not even think of i know flash and labrat know what im talkin about

I'm not much of a street bomber..
but i think they only respond to the calls and do routes when people start bitching..

True Sh!t does rock longer and the buff has been broken, but a lot of good stuff goes up and almost the same amount of weak stuff goes up too but it stays up longer.Yae and Jare don't have the most stylish throws but they get up a lot.Style was the most important thing 20 years ago but this is a new era and new tactics have been brought to the fight.

Yo I gotta agree with flash. 5 years ago i would do a throw and find it buffed by the next afternoon and I would have to go back and do it again. Now I have sh*t rockin for 2 weeks on the same walls and sh*t. I'm thinkin the buff no longer does routes and just takes 311 calls when people need their building buffed.

I totaly understand....

but, whats the point of doing a burner when its going to get buffed the next day. you can do one burner for the night and not exist at all the next day, or do throws and last a week.

thats the way some people see it...
