Our doors were opened in 1989. But our story goes back to the 1940's, when Sheldon Goldmen began Sheldon's, a chain of stores in downtown Chicago. In 1989 Richard, Sheldon's son opened Genesis Art Supply on Western and Fullerton Ave. In October 2014 we moved to a larger location at 2525 N Elston.
Our staff is comprised of artists and art professionals who come from an array of artistic backgrounds and careers. Our team has the people who know about the process and the tools you need. They are experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated to you..

GENESIS WAS MY GO TO SPOT FOR SUPPLIES AND I THINK ONE OF THE LAST IN THE CITY! ALSO SHELDONS WAS GRAFFITI ART FRIENDLY BACK IN THE DAYS. SOME HONORABLE MENTIONS SPOTS THAT WERE A WRITERS HAVEN.
