All, rightty-Just opening up a discussion about classic piecing and their influence on the new and mid-generation writers. Who put up your favorite classic burners on the northside, Hall of Fame/wall of sin and the southwest/southsides? I personally, like the Midwest masters piece by the Feds at the hall of fame and a small but cool ass piece from GTC crew from 18th and pilsen. Of course there more-what do you think?

i always liked KUAZE's sh*t, ANTCK, DEEP, AGES, AGENT...man..thers a whole lot im forgetting..NESTOR had some dope sh*t too..3XD Crew..UFG..i still remember when J4F DESTROYED the Edens...dam...the good 'ol days..

Well Being That I'm an Old School Graff Writer from The 1980's and Not from The Chicago Metro Area(I'm From New York City)!!.Graff Does have It's Roots in The Mainstream Today W. The New Generation of Writers that are Out Now!!.I Myself Prefer to Piece than to Bomb Especially If you're Out Here Doing It on The Illegal Tip Like I Sometimes Do!!.I Think That Chicago has a Very Good History as far as The Graff Scenes Concerned,Writers Like DENZ,TRIXTER,D-ZINE,TAKE 2 and Others are The 1's Who Have Paved The Way for The New Millenium Generation of Graff Writers of Today as The Same Goes for New York as Well,Old School Writers Like Myself,COPE 2.CAVS,SENTO,SNATCH,STEM(YNN),PRIZ(CAC),RAB(CAC),SLIN 2,RIZE(TNB),T KID 170(TNB),QUIK,MIN 1,
DEMER,LEROY 444,TABE,VET,SHAMS Among Others!!.The New Generation of Old School Writers Must Always Remember that You Gotta Respect The Old School.Always Cause Were The 1's That Made The Path for you to Follow Along!!

DZINE???????? NEVER SAW AN ILLEGAL PIECE FROM HIM. AND I BOMBED IN THE 80'S. JUST ASK CHUMBLY WHAT HE THINKS OF DZINE?. IN NEW YORK AND IN CHICAGO YOUR RECOGNIZE BY YOUR PEERS BY WHAT YOU DO ILLEGALLY.
LOTS OF CHATS WERE BOMBING THE TRAINS IN THE 80'S. FIRST ONE I HEARD OF WAS PILOT IN 1981 HE HIT THE YARDS AT KEDZIE. THATS WHEN HE LIVE BY ROOSEVELT. SEEN-ABC WAS A MAD ARTIST WHO INFLUENCED BOTH TRIXSTER AND TAKE. ONCE THOSE 2 WENT OFF ON THERE OWN THEY BECAME KINGS IN THEIR OWN WAY. TRIXSTER INFUENCED THE FEDS AND TAKE WAS A BIG INFULENCE ON THE MAD CREW. I MET DENZ AND SLANG IN 85 AND LOOK AT THE WORK THEY HAVE DONE AFTERWARDS. JUST TRYING TO PUT SOME PIONEERS OUT THERE. Dzine, Dzine,Dizne-Sheesh, what could I say about him, without people wanting to skin him alive? I'm no big fan of Dzine's art, but I will say one thing, he did do a few illegel pieces. I know for a fact that he did some illegle pieces along side me and Rascal under the Pulaski bridge, near the intersection of the expressway on 41st. I know he was primarily a big-mouth type of guy, as he always had some type of assanine critism to give, even when you didn't ask him for any; he used to critize my work all the time and I'd just ignore it-he's just one of those kind of people. Back in my Icepak days, I remember he really used to get under Zore's skin. The thing about Dzine is that he went belly up for the "artsy farsty sh*t." He excelled at that so-called abstract art. I personally don't belive in absract art, becuase it takes no skill to throw paint around then bullsh*t and say it symblolizes things. Put simply-art requires skill-if there is no skill involved, then its not art; That's what I think anyway. He loved Vulcans work from New York and he was especially obssesed with Michael Basquate and Keith Harring- I mean no disrespect to them, but their fame as real graffiti artists I don't agree with, since they did not do graffiti art in the hip-hop sense-with wildstyles or graff oriented charachters. Once again, put simply, they were not graffiti artists! However, they certainly capitalized on it! I think this is what Dzine was trying to do, or actaully has done to some extent. I do give him credit for some success-I have seen some of his abstrsct designs on some dresses at Marshal Fields once. Lastly, I know some writers were jealous of his success, if thats what you want to call it. Not all writers are genuine ghetto-spawned artists-many have these goals of commercial success wanting to use graffiti as a launch point. The thing here is that eventhough his reputation eminates sell out-He shouldn't be forgotten in Chicago's graffiti history-keep in mind, not all history is good you know!

| thanks riddle. I for one wanted to know if dzine ever did anything.Everyone else has told me he did not. but as a fellow puerto rican and old SKOOLER i wanted to know. I notice his walls stay up forever. i do like the one on the boys club I HAVE A DREAM.thanks for the history and know on with the show. the only DZINE illegal roof top I seen was in late 89/90 it was passin the blue line on the douglas branch..passing 18th
that must 've been up for years! it said DZN and looked alot like it wqas done with rollers but they were kinda block buster letters |

does anyone know who did the piece of this vaughn bode charcter in Pilsen off of i think Leavitt asnd 21pl they buffed it but it must've been there from like 86 til 93!! it was faded but still there it was a chick with long hair and big eyes!!!

Cobalt-I did a girl bode' around 23rd and levett in pilsen in March of 1997. If it is a girl with blonde hair, I think that charachter might be mines, but I can't believe it would be still up. At the time, the ganbangers chased us out of there, so I never went back.
